Zira Medical LLC
SMS and Messaging Terms
Effective Date: August 27, 2026
1. About This Program
Zira Medical LLC (“Zira,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) is a network of licensed clinicians. When you receive care from a Zira clinician, we may send you text messages about that care.
These SMS and Messaging Terms describe what we send, how often, what it costs, and how to stop. They apply in addition to our Patient Terms of Service, Consent to Telehealth Services, and Notice of Privacy Practices.
2. Your Consent
By giving Zira your mobile number during intake or at any point in your care, you agree to receive text messages from Zira and its clinicians at that number, including messages sent using an automatic telephone dialing system or automated technology.
Consent to receive text messages is not a condition of receiving care. If you do not want texts, you can decline or opt out at any time and still be treated. We will use another method you choose — see Section 7.
We text you only at a number you gave us. If you give us someone else’s number, or change your number without telling us, messages may reach a person who is not you. Tell us right away if your mobile number changes.
3. What We Send
Messages relate to your care and may include:
- appointment and consultation reminders;
- notice that your clinician has responded or needs more information;
- prescription and refill reminders, and notice that a prescription has been sent to the pharmacy;
- lab and monitoring reminders, and notice that results are available;
- follow-up and check-in messages about how a treatment is working;
- safety information about a medication you are taking; and
- customer service replies when you message us.
Some messages are generated automatically by the systems your clinician works in. A licensed clinician is responsible for your clinical care regardless of how a message was produced.
We do not send marketing or promotional text messages, and we do not sell or rent your mobile number. If Zira ever wants to send you promotional messages, we will ask for your separate consent first, and you may decline without any effect on your care.
4. Message Frequency
Message frequency varies and depends on your treatment — how often you have consultations, whether refills or lab monitoring are involved, and whether you message us. Many patients receive a few messages per month; patients starting a new treatment or on a monitoring schedule may receive more.
5. Cost
Message and data rates may apply. Zira does not charge you for text messages, but your mobile carrier may, according to your plan. Check with your carrier if you are unsure.
6. How to Stop or Get Help
To stop: reply STOP to any message from us. We will send one confirmation that you have been unsubscribed, and then stop texting that number. You may also call (877) 780-9282 or email info@ziramedical.com.
To restart: reply START to the same number, or contact us.
For help: reply HELP, or contact us at (877) 780-9282 or info@ziramedical.com.
Opting out of texts does not cancel your care, and it does not opt you out of email or phone calls. But please understand: text messages carry refill reminders, lab notices, and safety information. If you stop them, you must keep up with your follow-up and monitoring another way, and your clinician may need to reach you by phone or email instead.
7. Choosing a Different Method
You may ask us to contact you at a specific number, email address, or mailing address, or by a specific method — for example, phone calls only, or messages to a number only you can see. We will accommodate reasonable requests and will not ask why. This is your right under HIPAA and it is described in our Notice of Privacy Practices.
8. Privacy and Security of Messages
Text messages are not a secure form of communication. A message could be seen by anyone with access to your phone, your lock screen, or an account synced to your device, and could reach the wrong person if your number changes hands.
We limit clinical detail in text messages, but a message may reveal that you are a patient, and some messages will contain health information. If that is a concern, use Section 7 to choose another method.
How we use and protect health information, including in messages, is described in our Notice of Privacy Practices. We do not use your mobile number for advertising, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing.
9. Carriers and Delivery
Delivery is not guaranteed. Messages may be delayed or fail because of your carrier, your device, your coverage, or a technical problem — including circumstances outside our control. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Do not rely on text messages for anything urgent.
Never use text messages for an emergency. If you are having a medical emergency, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency department. For a mental health crisis, call or text 988. Zira does not monitor incoming messages continuously, and a clinician may not see your message right away.
10. Supported Devices
You need a mobile phone that supports SMS text messaging. Not all handsets or carriers support every feature.
11. Changes
We may update these SMS and Messaging Terms. The current version will be available at ziramedical.com and through the platform where you receive care.
